Groupe Harmonie is a non-profit charitable organization, established in 1983, that provides support to people 55+ who are struggling with drug and/or alcohol addiction. Groupe Harmonie has a regional mandate for the island of Montreal and more specifically the Peter McGill sector.
Currently going through a restructuring process, Groupe Harmonie’s Board of Directors is looking for at least four people to join its team. We are looking for individuals who are:
1) interested in taking on the challenge of streamlining the organization;
2) committed to improving the quality of life of seniors;
3) dedicated to the development and continuity of our services and programs.
We are seeking candidates with the skills and willingness to support the organization through challenging reorganizing times. This includes work related to:
1) review and updating of existing policies and procedures;
2) development of non existent policies and procedures;
3) development of a strategic vision for the future of the organization;
4) development of fundraising strategies for the growth of programming and the hiring of personnel;
5) support to the development of Groupe Harmonie’s role as a leader in the community.
Understanding that this is demanding work, we are asking for a minimum commitment of six months, up to the usual 2 year board member term. We are looking for people with skills and expertise in one or more of these areas of expertise: social work, psychology, research, human resources, accounting, networking and communication as well as law. A positive attitude and the ability to work in a team are essential attributes.
Candidates must be bilingual and reachable by email. They are expected to contribute between 3 and 4 hours per month to prepare for and participate in meetings of the Board of Directors.
