Our team of health professionals includes employees, doctors, researchers, learners and volunteers that provide the health care or services you may need. This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Booking and Registration Clerk is responsible for the following: greeting and registration of all patients; scheduling and communicating of patient appointments; procurement of health records for the patient visit; coordination and booking and communication of diagnostic tests; assisting in the general organization, patient flow and efficiency of the department and maintaining accurate statistics as required.

Qualifications

  • Grade XII plus one year related clerical experience or recognized one year secretarial/business program
  • Knowledge of medical terminology an asset
  • Experience using STAR, PHS, SHARE, HPF and Millenium preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm during an emergency and deal with numerous interruptions and continuous change an asset
  • Knowledge of computers and typing required
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates problem solving and decision making skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours of Work

  • Long Assignment Full-time Position; 70 hours bi-weekly

Salary Information

$20.0923 – $21.9129 hourly
