The Bookkeeper/Administrator will be responsible for full-cycle bookkeeping being the liaison between the business and our Certified Public Accountant (CPA), performing all aspects of bookkeeping: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, data management, account reconciliations, recording journal entries, creating detailed reports, software training & interfacing, and will work with our CPA to ensure that taxes are filed correctly and on time. The Bookkeeper/Administrator will be required to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion.
Job Duties
Oversee the maintenance of books of account (including but not limited to preparing checks, coding, and posting invoices, preparing deposits, journal entries, reconciliations, petty cash).
Oversee issuing of checks / payment of invoices.
Complete monthly reconciliation for bank accounts.
Maintain year-end working papers and spreadsheets and assist with preparation for any audits or independent reviews with support from our CPA.
Exert care and control over assets and records and establish procedures for safeguarding, including security and computer back-up.
Provide technical support (including software updates, troubleshooting and back-ups).
Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all financial and bookkeeping activities.
Maintain an up-to-date, complete and systematic filing system to support bookkeeping and financial records.
Coordinate with CPA to maintain compliance with Federal, Provincial and local corporate and other applicable taxes.
Assist in developing budgets for special projects, as assigned.
Evaluate insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities for various properties.
Provide all-around administrative support to the President and CEO, as directed.
Always maintain strict confidentiality.
Other duties shall be assigned as required.
Requirements
Full-cycle Bookkeeping.
Strong knowledge of accounting.
Keen attention to details.
Proficient with both Apple products (Mac) and PC.
Proficient with Sage accounting software.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).
Must pass a pre-employment background check.
A valid Driver’s License.
