The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety has a career opportunity as Business Manager of a center. Kilburn Hall Youth Centre (KHYC) provides supervision to secure, remand and open custody youth, ages 12 to 17 under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

This position will interest professionals who wish to assist the Ministry in providing overall management of the Centre’s administration process including: budgeting/forecasting and expenditure control, purchasing, storage and inventory control, accounting, contract administration, human resource administration, PS/CS/GE contract administration and interpretation, records management, financial analysis, automated systems design and control and capital projects. The Business Manager is also responsible for supervision of the administrative support staff and being the liaison with Food Services.

To be successful in this position, you will have an understanding and knowledge of current public policy issues, financial management and public accountability principles, government decision-making processes, evaluation techniques and program management and delivery. You will have excellent conceptual, policy, and problem-solving skills, and outstanding interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.

Typically, to qualify for this position, you will possess a degree, or an equivalent level of combined education and experience, in business administration, mathematics, Human Resources or a related discipline, and experience in policy administration as it relates to collective agreements, Human Resources, Payroll, facility budgeting, and facility procedure development.
