Overview

The ADC NA eCommerce Business Relationship Director (BRD) is a senior-level, strategic business partner who shares ownership for both business strategy and business value results.

The BRD owns executive-level relationships and serves as a single point of focus, working to converge IT and one or more lines of business or value streams.

The BRD will coach business leaders and enable them to articulate their function’s (i.e. technology, people, etc.) needs and requirements that will advance business performance.

The BRD will lead as the strategic interface between the BEM’s function and business partner to stimulate, surface, and shape business demand and ensure that the potential business value from those assets and capabilities is captured, realized, optimized, and recognized.

Responsibilities

Business Relations: the role of the BRD is to ensure that IT is aligned with the business strategy and proactively translates the business needs so that IT can fulfill the business direction.

Strategic Planning: the BRD will have expertise and special focus on O2C, eCommerce and Customer Experience to support the business strategy of the region.

Business Analysis: the BRD leads and influences business process innovation and the identification of new business needs that positively impact our customers so that the customers continue and expand their business with LafargeHolcim.

Innovation: The BRD is a key contributor for executing the LH NA IT strategy by providing leadership and vision of IT Services within the region and balancing and coordinating the fulfillment of the business needs.

Customer Focus & Communication: the BRD will champion delivery and recognize such opportunities to ensure IT provides value to the business in their relationship with the customer.

Process Improvement: the BRD promotes business efficiencies and alignments through the identification of opportunities to link programs, processes, and systems throughout the organization, ensuring proper coordination and governance across the businesses continuously creating competitive advantages to the business (both in service delivery and operational cost)

Specific Accountabilities:
Ensuring that service line or region under their responsibility gets maximum value from IT to increase customer intimacy, increase productivity and optimize costs in the enterprise, commercial and industrial operations, and promote the benefits of knowledge sharing across business and IT. Translate business needs and issues into regional ITSC requirements and solutions.

Inspiring and Managing business needs to ensure the most valuable and effective use of IT investment.

Understanding and Responding to future needs of the business, ensuring that IT service quality matches with business expectations for IT operations and projects delivery.

Educating business users on the value of IT engagement within their service line or region, and increasing awareness of the services provided by the IT organization, also supporting the efforts to ensure ADC becomes a technology consultant to the business.

The BRD will be involved in a wide variety of projects in support of the business, such as; Business Process Improvement initiatives, Communication and Collaboration project, which are enterprise-wide systems reaching across the ADC Organization. The BRD will also ensure the delivery of information technology solutions that generate business value and confirm that the results are measured and communicated.

Develop and realize business case with support from Business

Engage with other stakeholders in IT like EA, ITSM, ITSEC and PPM. Along with PPM, should engage in capacity management

Be part of business strategy meetings and adequately guide or prime up the ADC teams to prepare for short, mid and long term projects

Support ITSM and other delivery teams in improving the operational and project performance of the delivery and project teams

Continuously create competitive advantage to the business (both in service deliver and operational cost).

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline, MBA or related qualification

Business Relationship Management Professional (BRMP) or Certified Business Relationship Manager (CBRM) preferred

10+ years’ experience with LafargeHolcim systems, business, and/or process environment and standards or 10+ years Business Relationship management experience

5+ years of facilitating the development and implementation of business initiatives and projects, based on management objectives

Consultant experience is an asset

Strategic thinker and ability to joint organizational vision and long-term thinking

Ability to listen, build rapport and credibility as a strategic partner within the leadership and functional teams

Ability to lead change using positive and collaborative methods

Ability to set expectations with business partners and effectively leverage governance for a positive business partner experience
