Reporting to the Manager, Pilot Crew Sched Day Operations, the Cabin Crew Scheduling Manager is responsible for the performance of the flight attendant Crew Schedulers in ensuring daily OTP and cost effective operations.

Responsibilities:
Ensure that crew scheduling efficiently schedules flight attendant staff for day of flight operations.

Ensures that crew schedulers operate in accordance with all CAR’s and in compliance with labor agreements.

Provide guidance to schedulers on the day-to-day operation of the Crew Scheduling function

Provide input to the Manager Pilot Crew Scheduling Day Operations on all irregular operations with respect to crew impact and availability while supporting on-time performance, customer service and cost management.

Manage appropriate action to minimize cabin personnel staffing costs by analyzing operational requirements vis-a-vis system Reserve resources

Track and manage daily OTP performance in Netline.

Solicit and develop suggestions for improving the crew scheduling function from crew scheduling personnel, line management, and crew members.

Proactively monitor flight attendant network (flight schedules) to assess potential disruptions that are caused by crew issues or that may affect crew schedules so as to proactively develop a plan of action.

Alert the SOC planning unit of potential crew-related disruptions and provide possible solutions.

Analyze and recommend possible re-crewing solutions to other operational disruptions to provide decision-support to the SOC Manager.

Direct flight attendant schedulers to assign or re-assign crew members to resolve certain schedule disruptions.

Consider crew legalities and contractual requirements in the decision-making process and directs crew schedulers to make computer adjustments and to confirm legalities and requirements.

During severe irregular operations, develop a comprehensive crew solution to major disruptions.

Work collaboratively with the SOC planning unit to consider options and alternatives to support customer service. E.g. extra-sections, equipment substitutions.

Liaise with the Manager training to give feedback on what supplementary training is required to improve/update the scheduler’s skill sets

Qualifications

One year crew scheduling experience an asset

Must be available for any shift, any day.

A demonstrated ability to make effective decisions in an environment of high pressure and stress.

Very strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

A demonstrated ability to professionally provide direction and leadership to staff members in a fast changing environment.

Working knowledge of Crew Scheduling systems is an asset

The ability to deal professionally with conflictual situations

Previous experience with staff management a definite asset

Available to work flexible varied shift when required

Working Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations related to crew scheduling.

Computer proficiency in Netline and Communicator an asset

Linguistic Requirements
