With a combination of outstanding business acumen and hands on understanding of casino operations, the General Manager assumes complete accountability for the financial, operational, customer and human resource objectives of all site operations and facility maintenance.
Using a positive and involved team attitude, this position provides leadership and is instrumental in: creating a customer centric culture, developing and executing strategic, operational and policy initiatives to enhance the financial contribution and effectiveness of casino operations.
In addition, the General Manager will ensure Gateway is in full compliance with provincial regulators relating to casino transactions.

Key Responsibilities
Responsible for Profit and Loss accountability for Casino Operations based on approved board budgets.
Maintains a thorough knowledge of local markets and implements initiatives to aggressively grow market share.
Manages all cost elements within the departments, particularly labour efficiency, to maximize profitability.
Manages recruitment, training and staff development to enhance the strength and effectiveness of staff and managers ability to achieve strategic and operational objectives.
Develops and implements initiatives and promotional activities through gaming, restaurant, and other elements to drive revenue growth. Collaborates with Marketing to execute promotional plans and maximize customer traffic.
Leads best practice implementation with regard to casino operations.
Executes strategic initiatives including gaming floor layouts, product mix, implementation of new products and yields management for both tables and slots.
Steers customer service training within the facility and provides guidance to managers to ensure the delivery of operational excellence to all customers.
Ensures excellence in customer service delivery for all departments.
Liaises with gaming regulators and facility management to ensure operations are maintained (where applicable).
When required, act as a Casino Shift Manager and performs other administration duties.
What You Bring
5 years of gaming experience
2 years of experience in a management role
Post-secondary education in business, commerce, hospitality or related field
Ability to lead operational change
Strong experience in gaming management operations
Proven leadership skills – able to direct and supervise staff
Excellent written and verbal communication – including ability to write external submissions
Solid customer service skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Demonstrate and promotes teamwork in the workplace
Adept at Microsoft Office applications
Must be willing to work reasonable overtime as business needs require
