Reporting directly to the Head, Enterprise Project Management Office, this is a new role in a key leadership position that will bring deep people change management expertise to the team. You will need to be a skilled communicator and have a passion for designing change practices and enabling the change journey. You are an expert at building relationships and understanding the diverse needs and environments of your colleagues through change. You will develop and coach change manager(s) leveraging best practices to realize adoption and sustained change for the organization. You are both a strategic and operational thinker and will roll up your sleeves and think out of the box in your design of strategies to achieve objectives. You will partner closely with project management leadership and its team members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an experienced people change management professional, you will make a difference through your leadership and the application of change management strategies and techniques on the transformational projects within the Enterprise Project Management Office. Your accountabilities will include:
- Design and development of frameworks and best practices based on your deep expertise in people change management
- Change management thought leadership, oversight and coaching for change managers which you will lead within the portfolio of projects
- Coach and share best practices in an advisory role where relevant across the organization
- Lead cross functional change strategies and plans with change managers, project managers, and subject matter experts across the organization
- Ensure the appropriate change management strategy is applied based on a thorough understanding of the impacted and interested stakeholders on every project to enable realization of the project outcome
- Perform the role as a change manager on specific projects as required
- Provide timely and accurate updates and communications to sponsors and owners of projects.
- Present change management strategies and progress at project governance forums
- Identify and build trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders for projects within the portfolio, managing expectations and providing regular and meaningful opportunities to provide and gather both feedback and updates
- Effectively manage change related risks and issues, ensuring effective mitigation strategies are in place
- Timely and accurate communications, presentations and reports interacting with diverse levels of the organization in governance forums
- Regular liaison with Salvation Army executive leaders serving as project sponsors and owners
- Relationship with functional leaders responsible for departments across the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Qualifications
The successful candidate will have at least 10 years of managing change in an organization across the full project life-cycle including planning, assessing stakeholders, designing strategies for change, measuring engagement, managing adoption and managing the sustainment of the change. You will have experience driving change and the ability to set direction and establish yourself as a trusted advisor. You will also have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline e.g. sociology, psychology, business administration
- Specialized change management training and/or certification
- Experience in and/or of the Not-for-Profit sector highly desired

- Strong integrative design and facilitation skills related to leader and employee engagement and mobilization, including leveraging on-line experiential learning tools
- Demonstrated skills and experience in managing change projects through the full lifecycle
- Demonstrated ability to quickly build strong trust-based relationships with project sponsors and stakeholders
- Excellent listening, inquiry, verbal communication and follow up skills and the ability to hear the unspoken
- Experience successfully navigating and creating results in ambiguous environments
- Personal resilience, a growth mindset and influencing skills
- Provide ability to prioritize, schedule and perform work to meet deadlines and commitments and work within a team environment
