This is a temporary full-time position at 40 hours per week, with varying shifts that are scheduled between Monday to Saturday.
The fixed term runs from October 6, 2021 to January 14, 2022.
Position Purpose Summary:
This position will assist with all things Christmas. Taking applications for Christmas assistance. Picking up donations of food for the food bank. Distribution of hampers and toys. Participation in community events that the The Salvation Army host or partner with. Assist with the Christmas kettle Campaign. Must hold a valid driver’s license.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take applications for Christmas Assistance
- Distribute hampers for family services as well as for Christmas
- Record documentation from families and individuals needing assistance
- Arrange kettle delivery or pickup as needed
- Assist with the counting of kettles
- Keep food bank clean and well organized
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Certifications:
- Grade 12 or Equivalent
Experience:
- Training will be provided
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Driver License
- Organized
- Compassion for others
- Confidentiality
PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:
PREFERRED SKILLS/Capabilities:
- Good verbal and written skills
- Some computer knowledge
- Multi-tasker
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Able to work weekends/evenings
Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:
- Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector
- This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable drivers abstract. The successful candidate would have to provide proof upon being hired.
