Position Purpose Summary:
Assist in the operation of the Community and Family Services at The Salvation Army Maple Creek Community Church.
This job is part of the Canada Summer Jobs program. Possibility of future, longer term employment with The Salvation Army for successful candidate.
- Temporary Full Time
- Start Date: November 1, 2021
- End Date: Dec 31, 2021
- 30 hours per week
- Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in Packing and Distribution of Food Hampers
- Assist clients with completion of paperwork and phone calls as needed
- Oversight of Christmas Toy Distribution
- Administrative duties including telephone reception, data entry, preparation of deposits and some receipting.
- Organization and scheduling of volunteers for Christmas Kettle Campaign
- Assisting with supervision of seasonal volunteers
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
*NOTE: You may be required to provide validated educational documentation.
Education/Certifications:
- Be between the ages of 15 and 30 years old (as per Canada Summer Jobs funding agreement)
- Successful Criminal Record Check
Experience:
- Some experience in applicable fields is helpful but not required
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Valid driver’s license is required. Abstract required.
- Ability to safely lift 40lbs

- Attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality with professional ethics and a balanced sense of fairness and flexibility.
- Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
- Excellent interpersonal skills, integrity, and adaptability.
- Ability to maintain information in confidence and exercise good judgement.
- Represent the organization is a positive, professional, and engaging manner.
