What you’ll create and do

As a Director, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

For our clients, you will be responsible for managing client relationships and engagements, including planning and executing on Lean transformation projects and leading the deployment of Perform and Perform Plus (our proprietary Operational Excellence offering). Internally, you will be responsible for managing business development initiatives and activities. The position is responsible for day-to-day management of the Operational Excellence team, mentoring, developing and coaching junior team members and managing staff utilization.

Engagement Management

Establish credibility with prospective clients by demonstrating expertise and knowledge of Lean transformation experience

Work with clients to define and implement forward-thinking workforce and operational excellence strategies and solutions to meet business needs

Identify and solve problems using Lean tools and techniques, analysis, experience and judgement and provide meaningful solutions and expertise

Provide operational excellence and workforce planning solutions to business leaders that optimize performance and productivity to deliver on the leaders’ mandates and demonstrate quantifiable ROI

Manage engagement teams in the production of quality deliverables on time and on budget

Manage engagement risk and project economics including planning, budgeting, billings and collection

Business Development

Develop and maintain relationships with decision makers at key clients, consulting with clients to understand the impact of disruption on the work, worker and workplace and help them define their ambition and strategy for improving efficiency and performance and transforming the workforce of the future

Lead pursuit teams and proposal development , collaborating with PwC colleagues in other lines of service to bring integrated solutions, including innovative approaches and methodologies to address client needs

People Development

Coach and mentor team members to create a high performing team environment

Develop and deliver training and share knowledge across the global PwC network

Actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities

Practice Development

Develop and maintain a repository of all operational excellence initiatives, programs and tools, establishing repeatable tools to increase efficiency

Lead and facilitate programs to build operational excellence capability across the practice

Use data, technology and metrics to uncover insightful ways to strengthen operational excellence capability and assess impact (diagnostic, tools, surveys, focus groups)

Actively contribute to continuing to grow yourself and the Workforce of the Future practice both regionally and nationally

What you’ll bring to this role

An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work

A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring diverse perspectives are heard

Extensive enterprise-level expertise working with senior leaders of organizations; ability to identify gaps and opportunities to apply Lean transformation with proven track record of substantially improving performance

Expertise should include strong practical and relevant experience in consulting and implementing operational excellence strategies ; including embedding new ways of working, improving productivity and engagement, and leading large scale multi-stream continuous improvement transformation projects at the enterprise level

Preferably industry expertise in one of the following sectors: Energy, Utilities, Manufacturing, Public Sector, or Financial Services

Experience working in a client-oriented, professional services environment with high profile organizations preferred

Certification in Lean or Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) is preferable

Excellent interpersonal relations, verbal and written communication skills, ability to work on the ground floor through the executive boardroom

A high level of personal integrity and energy, a demonstrated ability to work with others, a commitment to developing and leading high performing teams and a strong desire to learn

Ability to develop and present up to date ideas on workforce trends and conceptualize new approaches and solutions

Ability to effectively communicate your point of view on how work is changing for businesses

Ability to use analysis, experience and judgment to develop meaningful insights and recommendations for clients

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with sometimes ambiguous, unpredictable circumstances or changes, and make informed decisions without all the information

Proficient in working with data and transforming information into actionable insights
