Continuing Education Coordinator – Providers

Job Description:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Director, Learning & Knowledge Translation – Providers, the Continuing Education Coordinator is responsible for developing and leading initiatives that support continuing education for IHealth providers. Ensures the prioritization and coordination of provider and learner education programs throughout Island Health effectively utilizing available resources (i.e., human, equipment and fiscal). Assists with plans to develop additional resources where required.

Develops and implements mechanisms to coordinate the work of those providing provider education programs throughout Island Health. Monitors and evaluates outcomes and modifies programs, processes and standards as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience

A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master’s degree in professional discipline, education or other related field required, plus a minimum of five (5) years’ experience with at least two (2) years recent experience in a role related to health professional education and/or supervision. Current registration with a relevant health professional regulatory body required.

Computer skills MS Office including Outlook and Power Point.

Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

Use of a personal vehicle to travel between multiple sites.
