Hours:
- Casual / On call
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares meals; may prepare special dietary needs of guests
- Adapts work practices to ensure efficient delivery of food services
- Makes best use of resources and donations to minimize waste
- Follows guidelines for the safety and security of food and equipment
- May supervise students, volunteers or guests in work therapy
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Cook training: Minimum 1 year
- Strong service ethic and a friendly disposition with the public
- Adaptability to change and frequent interruptions
- Team oriented and able to take initiative
- Willingness to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Criminal Record Check
- Food Safe, CPR, First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis training an asset
- CPR, First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis Training an asset
- Computer ability
PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:
Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:
- Background check consent
- A clear vulnerable sector screening
- A clean drivers abstract
- Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training
