Description
This is a casual relief position with no guaranteed hours. Flexibility in scheduling is required. The work schedule is determined in consultation with your supervisor and may vary according to requirements of responsibility. Applicable shifts include a ½ hour unpaid meal break. This is a continuous operation (24/7) facility.

Fleeing from Persecution
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare meals in accordance with Canada’s Food Guide in a community residential facility for adult male offenders released to the community
- Maintain food services and follow an approved menu plan
- Prepare food in accordance with food safety guidelines and Universal Precautions
- Treat all clients with respect and dignity
- Perform other position related duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have completed grade 12
- Safe Food Handling Certificate is required
- One year of cooking experience in a commercial or institutional setting
- Good interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Have a valid, current certification in First Aid & CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
- Required to provide an original copy of a Background Check with vulnerable sector screening
- Able to obtain Enhanced Reliability Screening through Correctional Services Canada
- Support for and an understanding of the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada.
- Requires screening through The Salvation Army Abuse Registry.
