Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.

FUNCTION:
Under the supervision of the Director of Student Services, the Counsellor in Academic Training provides individual and collective assistance to post-secondary Inuit students in the English sector.

Implements academic workshops designed to assist students in their adaptation to post-secondary studies in collaboration with the Post-secondary institutions. Primarily for first year students attending John Abbott, other English CEGEPs in the Montreal area and to Students enrolled in Vocational Studies.

Offer academic support on assignment and preparation for exams to individuals and groups.

QUALIFICATIONS:
First level University Degree in a relevant specialization, notably in academic training.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 2 years teaching experience;

Knowledge of college level courses;

Computer literacy;

Familiarity with Nunavik and Inuit Education is an asset.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Flexible hours may be required;

Must be available to travel within the Montreal area when required;

May require travel to Nunavik;

May be required to audit College courses.

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
In accordance with the SPPOM collective agreement for professionals / From $44 671 to $74 842 annually depending on qualification and experience.

In addition to salary, you may be eligible to other benefits such as:

All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
