This is public education work of moderate complexity related to coordinating, delivering, and promoting community crime prevention programs. An employee of this class conducts security assessments of properties, preparing detailed reports for the review of a supervisor. Provides information in the form of workshops and meetings with the public as well as a variety of community and internal partners. May oversee the delivery and coordination of a volunteer crime prevention program such as the Burnaby Citizen’s Crime Watch. Performs related work as required.

Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by some post secondary training in criminology, plus considerable related experience, including some experience in promoting a community based program, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The Facilitator will have great communication skills, while being team-oriented with a personable attitude. Experience presenting informative workshops is necessary. Strong administrative, file management, and computer skills (i.e. MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) are required. A valid Class 5 unrestricted BC Driver’s Licence is required and Enhanced RCMP Security Clearance must be obtained and maintained.
