Description
To assist the Day Camp Program Coordinator and Day Camp Director with the planning and implementation of a weekly summer day camp program targeted at children ages 6 – 11 with a holistic approach, giving opportunity for social, emotional, physical and spiritual development.
This is a temporary, full-time position at 35 hours per week, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm from May 17 to August 17, 2021.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Written and Verbal Communication:
- Assists in developing, planning, and implementing a summer program for children ages 6-11
- Works with the Day Camp Program Coordinator to ensure necessary purchasing and gathering of donations.
- Assists with advertising and promotion of the camp program.
- Interacts broadly with congregation members, community partners, and neighbourhood families.
- Assists with staff training week.
- Assists with camp clean-up at the end of each camp.
Reporting
- Assists day camp program coordinator with report logs regarding:
- Attendance sheets
- Receipt logs for grant reports.
- Support external reporting requests as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a high school graduate with at least one year of post-secondary education (an alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable).
- Clear and current Criminal Police Investigation Check (CPIC) and Child/Adult Abuse Registry Check
- a valid Class 5F (Full) driver’s license and abstract required. Use of own vehicle an asset.
- First Aid and CPR certificate or willingness to attain.
PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to exercise good judgement
- Excellent time management skills, including the ability to effectively handle competing priorities and emerging demands.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with children, families and co-workers.
- Ability to treat information in a confidential manner.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
