This role will be responsible for leading the delivery of information technology services to one of our high-profile clients in the financial sector.

Role Description

As the Director Consulting Expert, you will join our team to take on the responsibility of managing critical high complexity programs and projects as part of the overall Application Management Services (AMS) for products offering financial services to businesses and consumers.

Reporting to the Vice President of a global delivery organization, you will be responsible for initiating, planning and delivering multiple programs and projects for a client engagement.

You will be adept at evaluating /assessing operations and making recommendations. You will engage with client C-level executives and project-level level management to help them develop and realize the right solutions to overcome their business and operations challenges.

You will learn the overall services delivery landscape and, as your knowledge and familiarity with the account grows, you may have the opportunity to transition into the engagement director role, with the overall responsibility and accountability of managing an end-to-end AMS service delivery, project and program delivery, and other Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary engagement lead with the client for delivery of projects and services.
  • Engage with business and solution experts and leverage a broad set of technologies, methodologies and platforms to define and deliver solutions to meet customer business requirements.
  • Manage client expectations to attain and maintain a high level of client satisfaction
  • Provide leadership for program and project delivery functions that includes overall delivery of critical programs/projects and being responsible for the delivery of projects managed by other project managers.
  • Act as primary point of contact to client and for business unit leadership on program and project delivery matters.
  • Responsible for quality of services, specific services levels and overall client satisfaction.
  • Keep up to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory compliance that impact delivery of solutions and services in your scope.

Specific Responsibilities by Area

Financial

  • Manage program and project profitability to agreed-upon targets
  • Advise Vice-President and Finance of any changes to projects that will cause a change in billings, revenue, or profitability
  • Manage project change control process and prepare Statements of Work and Change Requests for operational service additions / changes as required
  • Conduct and/or participate in financial reporting, relationship management, client resolution, and annual pricing reviews as required

Growth

  • Achieve predetermined growth targets and objectives
  • Maintain a funnel of sales opportunities
  • Develop proposals and respond to RFPs as required

Service Excellence

  • Take leadership with respect to Issues & Resolutions/Status
  • Ensure engagement compliance with any CGI or client quality or audit requirements
  • Drive operational improvements
  • Prepare corporate and balanced score card reports including action plans for issues and risks
  • Work with delivery organization to ensure changes and work requests are completed in the appropriate timeframes
  • Maintain escalation lists that can be used by delivery teams, operations and Client Services

Resource Management

  • Manage delivery teams
  • Conduct member management activities for team members, as appropriate
  • Train, mentor and coach team members

Business Unit & Customer Communication

  • Facilitate Operations meetings with the client
  • Act as primary point of contact for operational issues and communications internally within CGI and client
  • Manage relationship with client stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working in the Information Technology industry.
  • Have demonstrable experience in successfully delivering complex programs.
  • An experienced thought leader and fearless problem solver, who understands business and technology disciplines in great depth.
  • Experienced in recognizing business problems and applying technology solutions to solve business problems.
  • Strong communicator.
  • Experience in the areas of strategy, architecture, process improvement and / or IT optimization.
  • Demonstrable experience with consultative interaction and selling to high-level (CxO) executives.
  • Experience in working on multiple, diverse engagements simultaneously
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders, balancing conflicting priorities.
  • A team player, can work independently, entrepreneurial, strong business acumen, prior experience working for business consulting firms is a plus
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) – both up and down the organization
  • Demonstrable ability to coach team members based on experience with application development and support methodologies
  • Possess strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to work within senior levels of an organization and adjust messages accordingly
  • Experience in IT operations management (application and/or infrastructure support)
  • Strong understanding and implementation of quality methodologies.
  • Experience with client relationship management

Nice to Have

  • Background in software application development and integration projects
  • Experience working within a consulting environment or on an outsourcing engagement would be an asset
  • Experience across multiple sectors, such as government / regulatory, financial services, insurance, oil & gas, utilities, and transportation sectors
