Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. Reporting to the VP Infrastructure & Application Support, the Director Application Support is responsible for all I&IT related application support operations used to enable business capabilities and services throughout the organization.
What will I be doing?
Provides senior leadership and oversight to our Applications Support portfolio which includes Information Management, Corporate and Enterprise Applications, Transit, Customer Care and Shared Services in order to support and contribute to Metrolinx strategic priorities and goals;
Develops and oversees the implementation of the IT strategic direction for the Applications Support group, including the creation of the Application Support annual plan and objectives;
Overall responsibility for the inceptions, development and implementation of a comprehensive Disaster Recovery Plan so that the end user experience is not negatively impacted regardless of circumstance or situation.
Contributes to the development and execution of the strategy and is responsible for ensuring the Applications Support team is aligned to positioning the team to deliver compelling business value
Provides senior leadership, direction and guidance to IT Application Support and builds the operational capacity and capability to deliver stable IT services
Manages I&IT vendor relationship for I&IT Application Support
Manages security oversight and compliance across I&IT Application Support
Directs and oversees the alignment of I&IT Application Support activities with governing frameworks, standards and methodologies that support business requirements and enterprise-scale efficiencies;
What skills and qualifications do I need?
Completion of a degree in Computer Science or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
Minimum ten (10) years’ related experience contributing to the success of midsize-to-large initiatives with above average levels of complexity and business criticality
Agile certification (Agile Certified Professional, Certified Scrum Product Owner) with experience using agile approaches and principles in the IT environment is an asset
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations is an asset
Certified in Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) is an asset
