The Opportunity
The Ministry of Immigration and Career Training, Career Services Branch, is seeking an experienced, energetic professional with strong technical and leadership skills for the permanent full-time position of Director, Career Development Services.
Reporting to the Executive Director, your responsibilities will include:
Leading a team of client service focused professionals who provide comprehensive career, employment and immigration settlement services to a variety of clients, including new Canadians, job seekers and employers.
Providing strategic planning and leadership in the provision of services that support the goals and objectives of the ministry as well as broader government economic growth strategies. Strategic partnerships and labour market development efforts will be coordinated and targeted to meet the needs of citizens, including First Nations and Metis people, youth, immigrants, older workers, learners and employers.
Being community-minded and actively engaged with stakeholders, such as employers and employer groups, post-secondary institutions, Federal government, community-based organizations and Aboriginal organizations in planning programs and services that meet the employment needs of a growing economy.
Planning, influencing and advancing the development and delivery of effective strategic and operational policy. This is inclusive of all programs, services, and associated resources that are aligned to support the strategic directions of the Ministry.
Ability to use the ADKAR model to successfully implement organizational changes, technologies and directional changes to programs, supports and services to be responsive in serving the citizens of Saskatchewan to meet their career goals and obtaining employment.
Typically, the knowledge and experience required to achieve the above is obtained through the completion of a bachelor’s degree, demonstrated progressive experience as a director, and the appropriate behavioural and technical skills commensurate with the responsibilities of the position.
