Reports to the VP, Brand & Culture Communications.
What you will do:
Lead the integrated communications strategy and support for our Nitrogen, Phosphate and Potash (NPK) teams to expand awareness and appreciation of our role as the world’s largest crop input producer and as a top employer
Lead internal and external communications to advocate for our wholesale employees, customers and leadership and earn stakeholder trust for our role in sustainably producing essential fertilizers for global customers worldwide
Drive important outcomes in proactive and reactive media relations, internal communications and executive thought leadership positioning integrated with global Nutrien communications and marketing team strategies
Build trusted relationships with leaders and teams in Nitrogen, Phosphate and Potash (NPK) business units and with external stakeholders
Lead the communications function and team that supports internal and external communications to position the NPK business unit for success in delivering on business objectives
Establish strong rapport with media and other key audiences across a spectrum of subjects related to NPK operations
Work across Nutrien’s diverse business portfolio to align communications and public relations plans with Nutrien’s overall business and communications strategies
Lead a team of communications professionals responsible for partnering with the business to develop and execute all communications plans and activities
What you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related field from an accredited college or university
10+ years of experience in communications work, marketing, public relations, or similar field
Demonstrated experience in a large corporate environment (global is preferred)
Seasoned people leader with a track record of building world-class teams
Exceptional relationship-building with a passion for client service
Team player willing and eager to dive in and drive execution alongside team when needed
Strong relationships with the media and seasoned media relations spokesperson
Obsessed with data and insights to drive decisions
Strong curiosity, learning capacity and independent decision-making ability
Excellence in cross-functional collaboration and partnership
Outstanding presentation (written and verbal) communication skills
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range: $120,400 $172,000 USD. This range is estimated for the Director, Communications in Loveland, Colorado. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our plan(s), which provide discretionary award opportunities reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
