The Ministry of Government Relations oversees Saskatchewan’s system of municipal government and is seeking two dynamic leaders with vision, creativity and ability to work in a climate of growth as the Director of Community Planning in the Saskatoon regional office and Regina head office.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful candidates will facilitate provincial priorities for community growth and development. The positions will provide direction, leadership and management for a team of professional staff to strengthen municipal planning capacity. As well, the positions will lead the Integrated Subdivision Approval Program for the advancement of new economic development opportunities.
The ideal candidates will have a strong background in community planning with extensive experience in management, policy development and land development processes. You will have a thorough understanding of the provincial community planning system, municipal sector and have proven team leadership qualities and interpersonal skills to secure sustainable community growth opportunities. The successful candidates will demonstrate exceptional client service orientation, conceptual thinking, and ability to work with diverse interests in the municipal and development sectors.
To facilitate growth and development opportunities in Saskatchewan, you will be strategic and pragmatic while demonstrating innovation, flexibility and results orientated.
Typically, the knowledge for this position would be gained through the successful completion of a degree in community planning, public administration, resource management or related area. You will also possess membership or eligibility for Full or Provisional membership, in the Saskatchewan Professional Planners Institute and the Canadian Institute of Planners.
