Job Description
The Director, Digital Solutions will be a member of the Canadian Product team which is responsible for the development and rollout of Visa’s products and platforms in the Canadian marketplace. The team also works collaboratively with issuing and acquiring clients to support their product launches and innovations.
The position will be based in Toronto, Canada and will report to the Senior Director, Digital and Risk Products, Visa Canada.
This individual will drive the digital product agenda for Canada based on client needs, local market demands, and corporate priorities. They will work with internal stakeholders (including global digital product teams, local product and functional teams, sales teams, etc.) and external stakeholders (including clients, technology enablers, wallet providers, etc.) to conceive, deliver, manage, and promote Visa’s digital product solutions for the Canadian market.
The Director, Digital Products will oversee product launches, client launches, issue resolution, and work with our Sales team and at all levels of our clients. They will work closely with the global Product team to bring the best that Visa has to offer globally to Canada, and they will have the awareness, creativity, and strategic wherewithal to determine if/how to tailor the solution, strategy, or commercial construct for the Canadian market.
Digital commerce represents a significant portion of our growth trajectory in Canada. This individual will come to be viewed as a trusted partner in the space; who can speak to digital trends, one who can identify and deliver against future client and customer needs, who can work with and provide guidance to clients and act on guidance from them, and who can layout a roadmap for the future.
Key Accountabilities
Digital Product Solutions / Go to Market
Drive the market rollout and/or client rollouts for digital products, including but not limited to digital initiatives such as tokenization, cloud token framework, Click to Pay, mobile wallet launches, Tap to Device initiatives, and IoT initiatives. They will also work with lifecycle management products such as Visa Account Updater for PANs and tokens.
Be the point person on digital products and/or customer segments
Be on top of emerging trends in payments, new technologies, competitive insights and demonstrate thought leadership internally and with clients. Work with Visa Consulting and Analytics, data analytics teams, Finance teams, and research teams to develop hypotheses as to how macro factors and industry trends may affect our business. Have the executive level presence to then speak to clients about these critical topics. accomplish this.
Be on top of, and contribute to, what the global Visa products team is developing and look for opportunities to import leading strategies and products to Canada.
Research, identify and recommend opportunities for adding value to Visa products through potential new product features/services, redefining the value proposition, integrating to mobile based solutions and Visa API sets, and executing third party partnerships as required.
Product Launches and Revenue Growth
Provide product expertise and guidance (business, technical, operational) to support client digital product launches in market, working with client business and technical teams
Partner with Sales teams to promote and sell product solutions and initiatives to clients.
Partner with Visa Consulting and Analytics to collaborate on client solutions.
Partner with the Visa Marketing organization to create growth strategies and campaigns.
Partner with the CSS organization to execute product launches successfully.
Ensure compliance with products, brand and risk management standards.
Instil a mindset of continuous learning within the team. Consistently raise the bar, ensure growth and development for members of the team, and ensure that Visa is bringing the best and brightest talent and solutions to drive our business and add value to clients in Canada.
Build subject expertise for new initiatives and ensure that the team is able to deliver on these initiatives in a self-sufficient way (in collaboration with global subject experts where needed but with the goal of building the expertise locally).

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
12+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
Payments industry and/or payments technology experience required
Possess functional and technical knowledge of the digital payments environment
Must be able to effectively synthesize and communicate business detail to a technical audience and technical detail to a business audience, and also be able to go to some level of technical depth with a technical audience. Stakeholders will be from the operational level up to the executive level (credibility, depth, polish, etc. are required).
Executive presence and the ability to engage with senior level clients, and the ability to be seen as a thought leader who can shape future thinking.
Be well versed on trends and developments in the digital payments world, both business and technology, and with the personal interest to stay current. Be a confident subject matter expert and resource for internal leadership and external clients.
Advanced oral and written communication skills with the ability to strongly influence and direct others at all levels.
