Key Job Responsibilities:
Develop & executes labor and employee relations strategies & tactics aligned with the corporate strategies and consistent with the values of TVO
Collaborates with the Manager, Learning & Organization Development to design and implement initiatives to provide managers with the skills and tools necessary to effectively manage in a unionized environment, increase employee engagement and develop resilience and adaptability
Collaborates with all levels of management, employees, and officers of bargaining units to proactively identify and resolve labor and employee relations issues ranging from the strategic to the day to day.
Oversees adherence to all Occupational Health & Safety programs for the company in collaboration with the Joint Health & Safety Committee
Oversees adherence to Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
Develops and executes strategies regarding contingency planning and potential labor
Responsible for the administration of all collective agreements
Overseas the Joint Labor Management Committee meetings with a view to identifying and resolving issues in a collaborative manner aligned with the corporate strategy.
Handles all grievances from investigation through to disposition
Responsible for proper administration of employment and employment-related
Responsible for overseeing and leading investigations and creating reports related to alleged breaches of company policy, including conducting harassment and discrimination investigations in a skilled and sensitive manner
Responsible for investigations and prepares reports pursuant to complaints related to disciplinary and other workplace
Applies best practices in conflict resolution, facilitation, mediation to resolve workplace conflict and other issues
Deliver informal training to stakeholders including Leader blogs and other
Monitors labor and employment legislation and recommends policies, programs & initiatives to ensure legislative (Includes ESA, HRC, OLRA, OHSA)

Experience
Required
Demonstrated ability to conduct sensitive workplace investigations, recommend and implement appropriate follow-up action.
Superior problem solving and conflict resolution skills with a strong results orientation to bring effective closure to issues
7 – 10 years: 7 to 10 years progressive experience in employee and/or labour relations
Preferred
CHRL is an asset.
