What will you do in this job?:
This role as Director Food and Beverage, Jasper is to lead the food and beverage team within our Jasper Lodging and Maligne Valley properties. This position will encompass Pursuit’s Jasper Lodging (JL) division comprising of 7 properties equaling to 12 outlets; alongside Maligne Valley (MV) which is split into 2 properties and 5 outlets. With 11 kitchens servicing 17 outlets we offer diverse culinary experiences. From cafés to a waffle hut on the lake, to upscale market style eateries and fine dining.
Overseeing all F&B operations throughout JL & MV
Responsible for all F&B financial forecasts and budgets; instrumental in taking steps to assist the division in exceeding F&B targets
Key player in F&B monthly financial reviews, forecasting and annual budget discussions
Translate vision and strategy into actions designed to grow the business, both in service delivery levels and financial results
Ensure key leaders and stakeholders are provided with accurate and timely information; to provide progress towards our shared goals and facilitate effective decision making across the enterprise both operationally and strategically
Establish strong, partner-like relationships with the VP Operations and Senior Leadership, based on deep understanding, acumen and knowledge of Pursuit’s growth strategy, plans and performance. Anticipate key issues and informational needs and be prepared to discuss ongoing performance and key projects that will enhance the performance of the outlets and drive shareholder value
Responsible for the timely management of job task checklists, safety checklists, performance review and performance management of Jasper F&B team
Become deeply ingrained in the operations and products in order to drive employee satisfaction, guest satisfaction and financial performance.
Perform rigorous employee and guest satisfaction analyses, operating, risk, maximizing revenues and profitability assessments for all F&B outlets
Constantly evaluating the success of our food and beverage program and proactively taking action to capitalize on opportunities for growth in volume or quality
Ensuring efficient and comprehensive usage of Pursuit’s Inventory Management System
Meet weekly with Jasper F&B Management to ensure efficient management of the P/L statement through food and labour cost results meet or exceed budgeted expectations
Collect, communicate and lead the efforts to know and understand our customers, guest trends, innovation, and product development
Develops and refines standards and techniques to ensure safe work habits and environment, with consistency, quality and follow up resulting in and an elevated guest and team experience
Collaborates closely with F&B Support Services and the Interpretation team to enhance all elements of the food and beverage experience
Preparing and coaching the team on the necessary data for budget; projects, labour and other costs and monitors actual financial results holding the team accountable to targets

Coach, develop and mentor the team while maintaining a fun, professional workplace
Maintain core standards as developed by F&B Shared Services
Reports to the Vice President Operations & Director of Food and Beverage

What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
Minimum 5-10 years of senior leadership experience in food and beverage, resorts or attractions
Experience with multiunit leadership
Enthusiastic, energetic person capable of carrying out all charges in a unique environment being innovative, detail oriented and quality conscious
An effective leader, manager, trainer, administrator and team player with exceptional communication, organizational skills, attention to detail, solutions driven and follow through
Demonstrated ability to develop, update and adopt processes
