Director, Fund Operations

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

On a typical day you’ll be working on a wide range of diverse and varied projects, spanning across two main areas of focus:

Support Function:
Overseeing the day to day of the Fund Operations team

Escalating and coordinating identified team/client needs and improvement points/ideas to consistently build and grow the fund operations team in all aspects

Managing key stakeholder relationships

Coordinating fund close/distribution cycle deliverables, according to the various offering memorandums and SLA’s

Actively recruiting, coaching and training staff on all required elements of the job

Creating process documents, detailing fund processes and procedures

Liaising with internal resources + external auditors to ensure all monthly/quarterly and annual reporting deadlines are met

Preparing, reviewing and coordinating internal senior management requests on a timely basis

Maintaining our financial models/reconciliations

Taking the lead on periodic/ad hoc projects – support and coordinate the planning and delivery of internal projects including assessment of results and impact of such projects on your team

Review Function:
Reconciliations across a variety of financial reports – unit balances, share registers, etc.

Order tracking and fund closes on Exempt Edge (software platform)

Investor information maintenance on Exempt Edge (software platform)

Monthly distribution & commission calculations and payments

Monthly/quarterly/annual trailer and rebate calculations + payments

Subscription/redemption agreements

Monthly fund reporting to be sent out to all applicable stakeholders.

Monthly/quarterly NAV calculations/packages

Monitoring fund activity throughout the month

Monthly fund performance reporting

Ensuring that all final reports tie out to the supporting working papers.

All new agreements for existing offerings/any new offerings

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?

Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Business Administration with an accounting and or finance concentration

3 – 5 years experience in a financial services/reporting function, 1-3 years in a leadership role

Loves a challenge, ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Proactive attitude and shows commitment and accountability

Great problem-solving skills

Extremely detail oriented individual

Superior communication skills – ability to relay information through written and oral means up and down the chain of command

Interpersonal skills – can effectively work as part of a team with the right blend of collaboration, flexibility, and involvement

Foster and maintain the team’s high level/standard of output and investor/client servicing

Ability to work from home as required without a decrease in productivity

Computer skills – (Microsoft suite), intermediate excel is non-negotiable (Vlookup, Sumif, Tables, Sorting/Filtering, Pivot tables.)

Organizational skills – being able to prioritize tasks, manage yourself and your time effectively

Capacity for Change – ability to adapt quickly to any change in business needs/team requirements
