WHAT YOU’LL DO:
At PRHC we know that our people are what make us special.The Director HR plays an important role in ensuring that we are able to execute our vision of taking an employee-centered approach in everything we do.You’ll be joining and leading a committed and dedicated team of professionals to deliver an outstanding employment experience for all our people.
In this role, you will be entrusted to lead the Human Resources function for the organization, which is mandated to support, enable, and empower our Staff and Leadership to provide outstanding care, and service, to our patients and their families. This includes traditional HR and Organizational Development functions, as well as Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness and Staff Scheduling.
As Director, you’ll be an instrumental part of visioning and planning each of the aforementioned efforts, and will be empowered with their implementation, evaluation, and sustainment. One of the fundamental things you will do is ensure that HR programming and services include a data-driven and evidence-based approach to the support and enablement of our staff population; this includes developing our workforce planning function as well as identifying areas of people risk/concern before they become issues using data, metrics, and current research/best-practice.
You will work closely and collaboratively with other corporate and operational areas within the Hospital, and will be a key member of our Director-led Operations Committee. The position reports to the Associate Vice President.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
We need a knowledgeable and experienced leader with a proven track record of successfully operating and delivering results in of one or more of the functional areas that exist within the portfolio, and who can demonstrate their ability to contribute to, create and/or maintain a positive organizational culture. To be successful in the role, the Director will require the following:
10 + years of professional human resource experience, the majority at a leadership level
Certified Human Resources Professional Designation
Demonstrated ability to work and lead within a highly-unionized environment; including an ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with Union partners. Experience leading Collective Bargaining is highly preferred.
A strong understanding of the function of Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness in a health care environment is preferred
Demonstrated success applying a people-focused approach to the leadership of your areas including: an ability to relate to and inspire your people; a willingness to deal with issues; a proven ability to develop high-performing teams, individuals, and leaders; ensuring a healthy and respectful workplace; motivating, supporting, and enabling the very best performance from your people
Experience identifying human-related risks, developing mitigation approaches, and designing/executing appropriate interventions; including an ability to identify and deliver proactive programming intended to improve safety, offset conflict, increase team cohesion and productivity, and build/maintain the components necessary for a modern and effective organization from a people-perspective
Excellent interpersonal, coaching, communication, and presentation skills are necessary, as is the ability to influence (without formal authority) all levels of an organization to make sound and defensible people-related business decisions
Demonstrated effectiveness in budgeting, resource management, and contractor/vendor negotiations and management
Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for process and systems improvement, including: the preparation of compelling and best-practice/data-driven business cases; project planning; strategy, program, and policy development; excellent change management; and a demonstrated ability to lead concepts/ideas through to effective implementation
Leadership experience in a Health Care environment would be considered an asset
Positive role model for the department and organization demonstrating how we should treat our people
