LOCATION: Work-From-Home / 2151 Thurston Drive, Ottawa, ON

Responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions for CAA North & East Ontario (CAANEO). This includes directing technical operations to meet internal and external requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing infrastructure, applications, communications, and the development of new technical solutions. As Director, you will be closely involved and influential in the development and implementation of CAA North & East Ontario’s strategic planning, and overall Club related strategies as required. You will identify, select, and oversee the deployment or outsourcing of the appropriate technology resources that will support Club goals and objectives. This shall require a high degree of cooperation in working with the business lines to support investment in and adoption of technologies which will result in improved Member service and Club relevancy. You will report to the Managing Director of Enterprise Solutions, and your team consists of Database Administration, IT Specialists, Systems Administration, Telephony, and Support. Your closest colleagues are the Applications and Development leads, but you will build strong working relationships with all line of business stakeholders in order to understand their needs and solution accordingly.

Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, vision, and management to the IS department

Work with Senior Management and staff to assess and respond to IS needs; plan and facilitate IS strategic and tactical planning.

Support the planning and execution of all CAA-mandated initiatives; participate in national and international task forces and committee meetings.

Develop and manage the IS budget.

Oversee the ordering, acquisition, inventory management, and disposition of hardware and software

Create and deliver business cases for technology projects; including outsourcing of IS functions or insourcing as assessed as having practical value for the Club

Oversee the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packages.

Act as the primary contact with outside vendors in the generation of RFPs, bids, contracts, agreements for technology goods and services

Oversee maintenance of the integrity and continual 7×24 operation of the IT network and communications infrastructure including ensuring the continual 7×24 functioning of mission-critical operations

Develop, review, and certify all backup and disaster recovery procedures and plans

Ensure the maintenance, security, and privacy of the information

Manage IS team; directing, evaluating, and hiring as required

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a combination of education and relevant experience

Minimum (6) six years of direct work experience in a progressively senior IT management role(s)

Exceptional project management skills: a proven track record for product delivery, meeting deadlines, project plan development

Advanced knowledge of networking, operating system, and server architectures

Capable of directing staff with expertise in systems administration, web design, and database management

Ability to quickly understand new technologies especially those related to automotive services

Strong communication, negotiation, and prioritization skills

Knowledge of applicable IT laws and regulations including federal, provincial, and municipal

Work Conditions

Some travel may be required

Ability to attend and conduct presentations

Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals

Overtime & occasional weekend work as required
