Job Description
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Director, IT, Quality Assurance, you will join CIBC’s Digital & Cards Technology team providing testing and technical expertise and advice on large, complex projects. You will lead, consult on and support Credit Card strategic projects and work closely with DEV and QA management to advance the team’s testing and technical delivery strategies.
The role consults with a variety stakeholders including the Executives, CIBC Technology teams, Business partners, and external vendors to assess business needs, solutions, and applying appropriate testing methodologies and best practices. You will provide technical leadership, interpreting complex information to evaluate, select and apply emerging testing tools and techniques to recognize, anticipate, and resolve issues and mitigate risks. The role independently resolves a variety of ambiguous challenges and devising methods using strong analytic and inductive thinking.
How You’ll Succeed
Decision Making and Critical Thinking – Knowledge of tools and techniques for effective use of a broad range of factors, assumptions, frameworks and perspectives when solving problems.
Business and Systems Expertise – Be subject matter expert in Credit Card product lifecycle an supporting systems. Use your knowledge to define and document requirements for data, workflow, processes, systems, internal and external checks, controls and outputs to ensure the application exceeds expectations.
Communication – Ability to produce a variety of business and test strategy documents that demonstrate, clarity of thought and orderliness of presentation
Teamwork & Partnering – Ability to establish and build healthy working relations and partnerships with clients, vendors and peers.
Impact & Influence – Ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.
Adaptability – Responding to changing business priorities and needs by re-planning, re-prioritizing, re-allocating resources, etc.
Leadership Skills – Offer guidance and support. Provide strategic, informed recommendations to senior management, and keep up to date on current technology trends. Share knowledge and collaborate to come up with effective solutions to problems.
Relationship Management – Work closely with project teams, executives, stakeholders and business partners to develop, and implement high quality Credit Card solutions that exceeds business and client expectations. Impact and improve the business by advising application owners on the technology implementation possibilities and testing strategies.
