The Dufresne Group is currently seeking a Director of Logistics for our Inbound Logistics Team within our Home Office located at 147 Commerce Drive in Winnipeg, MB .
As a Director of Logistics you will be responsible for the cost and speed of the inbound transportation network from our global vendor base to our regional retail distribution centres (RDC’s) while managing capacities/freight movements between our RDC’s. You will be accountable for freight procurement, carrier development and foperformance management for Domestic (North American) and Import lanes (including freight forwarders).

As the Director of Logistics, you will:
Play a directing role in the continuous improvement of our distribution/transportation network design
Work with the merchandising managers to allocate freight factor settings by vendor to optimize Logistics revenue
Own and continue to develop our carrier management processes, such as sourcing, procurement and performance evaluation
Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, points of origin, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriers
Analyze all aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of transporting products and supplies
Recommend optimal inbound transportation modes, routing, equipment, and frequency (including national Ecomm delivery)
Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
Mentor, develop, and lead the support team of direct reports. Supervise the work of logistics coordinators, or planners.
Direct container optimization planning for TDG and DSG
Optimize and grow the TDG freight consolidation programs with dRSG
As a successful candidate you will have the following:
A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a logistics management capacity with a focus on freight analytics.
University or College degree in a relevant discipline
Experience in sourcing and procurement of logistics suppliers
Enrolment in or completion of CITT or PLOG is an asset.
Detailed understanding of Customs and Brokerage an asset
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of key inventory performance metrics, turns, margin contribution, etc.
Ability to engage in collaborative problem-solving efforts with senior managers.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize along with an understanding of MRP systems and processes are required.
Demonstrated working knowledge of MS Office products and ability to learn in-house computer programs.
