NSFM is currently seeking to fill the role of Director of Operations. This is a new position and has been created to support future growth and success of the association. Reporting to the CEO, this position will assist in the management of day-to-day operations. An understanding of municipal government, in particular the role of elected officials, is required. Knowledge of other levels of government and the political process is a definite asset.
The ideal candidate will have several years of senior level experience in non-profit, member-based organizations and will use acquired knowledge and experience to help inform the decisions of the NSFM. A masters level degree in business administration or public policy is preferred.
This position will take a leadership role when the CEO is unavailable and will be expected to represent NSFM on various committees and in meetings. Building positive relationships and providing timely support for our members and working with government, partners and stakeholders will be a key measure of success.
The Director of Operations will demonstrate leadership, discretion, initiative, and problem-solving skills. They will support a collaborative work environment that encourages and values team building and results. They will be tasked with overseeing administrative functions, communications and events, build on member relations, review and expand member benefit programs and identify new opportunities to financially support the work of the NSFM. They will have experience in risk management and will be expected to make sure all necessary internal processes are in place and ensure compliance.

Salary for this position is in the $80,000 – $85,000 range.
