Kent Homes is Atlantic Canada’s largest provider of homes and modular space solutions. We have been building quality structures since 1958 as part of the J.D. Irving, Limited group of businesses. Kent Homes Limited consists of three distinct business units: Kent Commercial, Kent Mobile Shelters, and the residential home division, Kent Homes. Located in Bouctouche, New Brunswick we build top quality homes and offices year-round.
We are currently looking for a Director of Operations, to lead our front- line operations. This role provides opportunity to lead for success in the business outcomes and evolve into the role of General Manager.
As the ideal candidate you are a STRATEGIC and effective leader who thinks in broad terms, sees issues from new perspectives, and demonstrates a unique ability to simplify the complex. You are a hands-on, dynamic LEADER with the ability to ENERGIZE and INSPIRE the team to take-action and ACHIEVE common goals.
As a member of the senior leadership team, you will lead a significant piece of the business operation with overall responsibility for managing a material proportion of Kent Homes. This includes but is not limited to:
Maintaining the highest standard for safety and ensuring all employees embrace our safety-first culture.
Leading the daily management of the operation to optimize productivity and profitability. Present period financial results to division leadership.
Setting and communicating clear priorities for the operations team. Develop and coach talent and make hiring decisions which support growth plans.
Maximizing employee engagement through regular, consistent, and personal communication and energizing the team to win every day.
Engaging customers as required to ensure all products and services are delivered safely, on-time, and of the highest quality.
Your qualifications include:
A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field with a professional designation. An MBA is considered a strong asset.
Minimum five (5) years of experience leading an operation, preferably in a comparable role to one of the six operating companies, or managing large scale projects where you had P&L responsibility and commercial exposure.
Demonstrated experience improving processes to drive practical business outcomes.
Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of managing financial requirements, deadlines, and priorities.
Building and fostering positive relationships with all stakeholders, internal and external.
Demonstrated ability to spot exceptional talent and nurture the growth of the next generation of leaders for the company.
