The District is seeking a dynamic leader to join the District as our Director of Operations & Infrastructure. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Operations & Infrastructure will provide support to the management team in strategic planning, departmental budgeting and monitoring, and risk management. This position is required to exercise a high degree of initiative, and judgment; and is responsible for the management of water, wastewater utilities (including a septic receiving facility), management of roads, fleet and equipment, dike, facilities, community parks, trails/pathways, cemetery, and the oversite of engineering. The individual must be enthusiastic and highly motivated with the ability to work in a challenging, fast paced organizational environment.
The successful candidate will have proven leadership and organizational skills, and will maintain effective working relationships with staff, public, businesses, contractors, regional and neighbouring local governments, and other organizations and agencies when required.
The preferred candidate will have thorough knowledge of local government public works, utilities, parks and facilities. Post-secondary in business administration, and/or an engineering related discipline, minimum of five (5) years of increasingly responsible management experience in multi-functional municipality and a strong understanding of water, wastewater collection and disposal, fleet, parks and building management activities, storm drainage systems, roads, and Asset Management principles. Project management and proficiency in MS Office and SCADA systems is required.
