Director of People Operations

About Alloy

At Alloy, we work with consumer goods companies that make the products we eat, wear, and use every day, as well as the ones we occasionally splurge on. We’re tackling a real and complex problem for them—managing supply and demand in the face of constantly changing customer behavior, highly complex supply chain networks, 40-year-old data standards and labor-intensive manual processes.

Alloy is a fast-growing, well-funded startup with expanding offices across the world. Our team hails from successful startups, leading tech companies and Fortune 100 enterprises. We believe deeply in fostering individual ownership, iterating to excellence, focusing on what matters, communicating openly & respectfully, and supporting one another.

We encourage people of all backgrounds to apply. Alloy is committed to creating an inclusive culture, and we celebrate diversity of all kinds.

About The Role

We are looking for a Director of People Operations who is responsible for developing, motivating, and retaining the team at Alloy.

Alloy is an operationally-driven company-we believe that doing things well internally is critical to our continued success. You will partner with our leadership and management teams to help them build and support their respective organizations, including onboarding an exceptional team, employee development, and championing our values.

About You

You thrive in a small team where you can make a big impact. You are confident in your toolkit and experience, and you also love to pick up new skills and knowledge.

You have an innate drive to be successful. As a foundational member of an early-stage startup, you want to take initiative and solve big problems.

You work collaboratively across disciplines to meet your objectives. When you know a better way, you voice your opinion.

You are both creative and analytical. You are comfortable with ambiguity and can lead through influence. You move fluidly between strategy and execution.

You have scrappy instincts and good judgment. When faced with a new problem, your gut says to get your hands dirty and get it done, but you also know when to step back, change strategy, deploy new resources.

What You’ll Do

Onboarding: Design and maintain consistent onboarding practices across Alloy while adapting to the specific needs of respective teams

Performance Management: Manage our biannual performance review process. Assist managers to ensure consistent practices.

Compensation Management: Research and maintain data on external compensation across roles and geographies. Ensure that compensation is fair and unbiased.

Benefits Management: Administer our benefits programs, including identifying the best benefit options, managing changes and enrollment

Values and Culture: Be a champion of our values, keep a pulse on employee morale, and initiate social activities (virtual and in person) for people to feel connected and appreciated.

Diversity and Inclusion: Quarterback data-driven strategies and initiatives that diversify our team and maintain an inclusive culture, with the support of the leadership team.

Employee Development: Implement programmatic and ad hoc training and development opportunities to address the most pressing needs. Partner with the leadership team and managers to design career paths that keep the team engaged and excited about future opportunities throughout the company.
