About This Opportunity
As the Director, Customer Operations you will report into the VP, Customer Excellence and will be based out of Toronto, ON. In this strategic leadership role, you will have the opportunity to work with GMs, DCMs, our Senior Operations Leadership Team and other stakeholders from across the organization to identify efficiency and customer service opportunities and create, pilot and execute initiatives to address those opportunities across the Cemtral Canada Operating Unit.
You will also be asked to lead national initiatives that will balance our Always Be Customer Focused and Achieve a World-Class Cost Structure Imperatives.
Responsibilities
- Continuous improvement implementation including Planning, Deployment, Execution, Monitoring and Post-Implementation reviews
- Lead deployment of strategic capital investment, OPEX and customer-service related projects as agreed upon by the Customer Excellence, Operating Unit and Senior Operating Leadership team
- Project Deployment includes launching and monitoring of actions to ensure innovation, adoption and sustainability of initiatives including:
o Communicating with, collaborating with and influencing Senior Operating Unit leadership and teams across multiple Market Units
o Plan for success keeping a holistic yet detailed perspective around local realities
o Put in place and monitor key success metrics while driving innovation and continuous improvement
o Collaborate with OU and MU teams to properly plan, deploy, learn, and provide feedback
- Support the distribution and warehouse teams across the Operating Unit with technical and process leadership and facilitation of root cause analysis of operational opportunities
- Benchmark best practices inside and outside of the West Operating Unit and compare to current state in distribution and warehouse operations with a view to driving continuous improvement
- Be the voice of the Market Units to ensure effective change management plans which will lead to the successful implementation of initiatives and projects
- Participate in the development of Field Operations personnel by means of mentoring and coaching
- Lead contingency efforts for all MU’s within the West Operating Unit
- Collaborate with Operating Unit Vice President on Market Unit specific needs to drive productivity or correct deficiencies
Qualifications
- 6+ years of supply chain experience (preferably in the consumer goods industry)
- 4+ years of senior leadership experience
- Change management planning experience
- Project management experience
- Experience in building capabilities for people leaders
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to lead and influence others in a matrix organization
- Track record of delivering sustainable results
- Solid financial acumen, including ability to build and analyze business cases
- Analytics experience – ability to draw insights and take actions from data
- Strong Microsoft Office®, PowerBI and SAP skills are an asset
