As the Director of People & Culture for DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society (DCRS) you will have the opportunity to be the driving force behind DIVERSEcity’s strategic objective of building a more engaged and people-centric organization. Reporting to the CEO, and a valued member of the Executive Team, you will be responsible for all aspects of human resources, providing guidance for labour relations, employee relations, and talent management. Through your ability to influence others, you will achieve buy-in from stakeholders and move organization-wide values driven strategies, programs, and initiatives forward that align with the strategic plan and HR best practices.

DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society is a registered non-profit agency offering a wide range of services and programs to the culturally diverse communities of the Lower Mainland. Established in 1978, it is now celebrating over 40 years of service assisting immigrants and new Canadians to integrate into their new communities.

The many services they offer include settlement and community programs, language training and literacy, employment services and skills training, counselling, programs for children and youth and interpretation and translation services.

The Ideal Candidate:
A true Human Resources professional, you bring proven success in facilitating and supporting culture transformation through your ability to connect and build credibility at all levels of the organization. You are a seasoned leader who is confident in your knowledge of all aspects of HR practices and can provide expertise and support in the areas of Talent Management, Performance Management, Employee Relations, Employee Engagement, Diversity & Inclusion, Policy and Procedure Development, and HR Compliance to the organization. You are a confident negotiator and mediator, are adept at conflict resolution; you influence others through your exemplary written, verbal and presentation skills. A strong leader who works collaboratively with peers, you are a caring mentor and coach to your team.

The Role:
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement progressive and inclusive HR strategies, programs and practices that align with the strategic plan and enhance and support a people-centric culture;

Develop and implement organization-wide Talent Management programs;

HR/LR support to the Executive Team including administering the collective agreement, local issues bargaining, and Step 3 arbitration and mediation;

Develop and implement effective Employee Engagement and Communications strategies;

Lead the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Advisory Committee;

As a member of the Executive Team, contribute to the strategic plan and act as a trusted advisor to the CEO on all HR matters;

Lead a team of two Managers, providing coaching, mentoring and development opportunities;

Ensure best practices in all aspects of HR for the organization.

Qualifications:
A CPHR designation plus a university degree in business, human resources/labour relations management or a related discipline from a recognized program;

5 to 8 years of related leadership experience in a complex labour relations environment (non-profit preferably) or an equivalent;

Knowledge of current employment law, labour relations regulations, statutes, collective bargaining and collective agreements. Experience with the General Services Collective Agreement (BCGEU) an asset.
