Director, Planning & Replenishment

The Director of Grocery Planning & Replenishment is accountable for the key functions of Merchandise planning & replenishment including pre-season merchandise financial planning, in-season management, purchase order creation management and supply chain inventory flow. The Director develops budgets and determines merchandise financial planning and replenishment strategies that ensure an optimal balance of inventory to achieve sales, margin and turn targets. The Director’s overall responsibility is to ensure merchandise is planned, delivered and executed to ensure customer and store satisfaction to support corporate objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Contribute to the development of innovative, cost effective and results-oriented Planning & Replenishment strategies to support the business plan and goals that drive sales, margin and productivity while managing inventory and in stock availability targets

Collaborate with cross functional teams to achieve strategic priorities and business objectives

Optimize replenishment and planning processes in partnership with Process Improvement team and Business leaders to minimize operation costs and develop best practice within the business unit

Oversee all activities related to the final merchandise financial plan and monitor in-season sales, inventory and margin to department financial targets, providing recommendations and best practices on forecasting and sharing insights to set realistic expectations

Implement and oversee processes to manage clearance of aged or discontinued inventory, proactively recognizing future challenges and recommending strategies for markdowns and clearance while considering the impact to margin

Identify, articulate and champion the needs of the division to support the development, implementation and evolution of inventory management, replenishment and planning systems

Act as A change agent that demonstrates flexibility and resilience and is able to respond constructively to demands and challenges of a dynamic environment

Clearly articulate the vision of the Grocery Planning & Replenishment team cross-functionally and participate in large-scale projects that span across numerous business areas including project planning and execution, fiscal management, people development, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in Engineering, Business, Mathematics, Operations Management or equivalent

8-12 years’ experience in Planning, Replenishment, Business Operations or related experience

Minimum of 5 years’ people management experience

Strong planning and organizational skills

Proven analytical skills with experience in statistical forecasting and financial analytics and planning

Ability to quickly identify, interpret and leverage critical performance indicators from multiple sources

Able to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment

Solution and results oriented thinker with a strong ability to listen

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects

Strong financial acumen
