As the Information Company, our mission at OpenText is to create software solutions and deliver services that redefine the future of digital. Be part of a winning team that leads the way in Enterprise Information Management.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Open Text consumer team is looking for a dynamic, self-starting, and experienced Product Management professional with demonstrated team leadership skills to help drive innovation and exciting expansion plans for several of our key data protection products.
With demonstrable team leadership and mentoring skills, you are experienced and skilled at communicating and pursuing a vision with business stakeholders. Your strong collaboration skills have marked you out as a team player whilst your ownership and drive have shown team members and colleagues that you are able to own and lead an unusual, mixed ‘product’ portfolio as a team leader. You are able to successfully navigate competing priorities and have the skill to say ‘no’ when the Vision and Strategy need you to.
As the Director of Product Management, you will be responsible for communicating and executing against the vision and strategy for our cloud technologies across our various channels globally. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, and Product, you will be an evangelist on activities in this space. You will be directly responsible for releases and helping define a unified product experience for both internal and external customers and partners.
Our development methodology blends internal and external teams using Agile development methodologies, and you will work with development team members and other Product Managers to execute the Development roadmap and define the associated release requirements for the development team and coach your team on how to do this effectively. This role will be pivotal in exposing the varied and disparate work streams to a wider business audience, providing expert analysis, updates and guidance to Product Managers, Engineers, and leaders across the business.
This role has a mix of well-defined processes and platforms; however, some areas are greenfield – you will be recovering dormant, amending existing, and creating new processes and procedures to enable the engineering teams to interface across the organization.
YOU ARE GREAT AT:
Owning and understanding the market, customer & operational needs, act as liaison and subject matter expert for the maintenance and innovation of complex big data solutions.
Providing cross-team and cross-organizational leadership
Helping deliver the product vision, strategy and roadmaps for consumer-focused data protection, mobile, and cybersecurity products
Assisting in establishing and maintaining standards and guidelines for the design, deployment, and maintenance of information and advanced data analytics.
Measuring the success of the product from multiple perspectives and able to report out to executive-level leadership
Using data-driven decisions to prioritize, enable, and deliver
Being visible and social – the role requires the ability to drive cross-team collaboration and building relationships with key stakeholders, often negotiating and balancing different team’s needs
Partnering with other Product Managers and development teams to deliver a unified product experience with input from customers, prospects, analysts, advisory teams and internal product experts
Making tough prioritization choices and find creative solutions to hard problems.
Driving feature delivery & lifecycle: research customer/user needs; assist in writing user stories with Agile Team Coordinators, work with engineering to develop, test and deliver service innovations on time.
Assisting with internal and external communication
Interfacing directly with customers and the Webroot support team on customer escalations
WHAT IT TAKES:
10+ years of Product Management experience (including Product Management leadership), some of which must have been in the data protection, cybersecurity or mobile industry
Direct experience with large-scale Public Cloud infrastructure or Public-Private Cloud infrastructure
A self-starter with proven ability to take initiative as well as balance competing priorities
Highly collaborative and able to partner effectively with both technical, Product, operations and field sales teams
Agile methodologies, such as SCRUM and Kanban
Demonstrable team management/mentoring experience
