Director, Research L&D

The Director, Research L&D will primarily manage the development of learning, training and development programs to support IT Research priorities. This role is responsible for delivering onboarding, training, and continuous learning to new and tenured research and interdepartmental team members.

Key Responsibilities

Facilitate instructor-led onboarding, training, and continuous learning sessions for designated cohort(s) of new and tenured Research Analysts.

Maintain, update and create onboarding material as required.

Collaborate closely with the Research leadership team to build a learning and development agenda to support Research priorities.

Identify employee learning needs and create learning paths for key roles within the Research department.

Manage the ongoing execution of the call certification program.

Provide feedback & identify coaching opportunities.

Coordinate the building and implementation/follow up of Individual Development plans for everyone in Research.

Collaborate with department leads to design, develop, and maintain interdepartmental training materials related to research process, content and products.

Lead & support interdepartmental training initiatives for new and tenured staff on core research processes, products and products

Ensure on going collaboration with department leads to identify learning gaps and requirements.

Identify needs and make recommendations on the continuous improvements for training systems and processes, including the development and evaluation of courses.

Work to continuously optimize and improve training delivery and facilitation based on insights and feedback.

Conduct ongoing critical evaluations of learning materials and experiences.

Contribute innovative approaches to the learning function.

Create and maintain online learning modules and activities to support the in-person training curriculum for research and interdepartmental training.

Monitor and manage course assignment and completion rates.

Key Selection Criteria:
3-5 years corporate experience in progressive learning and development roles

Experience in creating and delivering a variety of learning strategies and solutions.

College or university degree in any area that builds high-quality communication skills.

Experience in:
Design, development, and implementation of training initiatives in a variety of learning solutions, including facilitated classroom, self-directed, and digital solutions.

Project management in the context of a learning environment

Facilitation background is an asset.

Knowledge and experience in one or more:
Digital learning and authoring tools e.g. Articulate Suite (Studio and Storyline), Camtasia, Captivate, Vyond

Learning Management Systems (UltiPro would be ideal)
