Director, Water & Wastewater Operations
As the Director of Water & Wastewater Operations, you will have overall responsibility for planning, operation,
compliance, renewal and maintenance of all District owned and operated water and wastewater systems and facilities and
for ensuring strict adherence with all legislation and regulations pertaining to the treatment, supply and distribution of
municipal water and the collection and treatment of wastewater.
Through your team of over 50 staff, you will ensure the provision of safe and reliable water services to the Muskoka
Region. Our Operations consist of 9 drinking water systems, 8 wastewater treatment facilities and 9 septage lagoons
spanning throughout Bracebridge, Gravenhurst, Huntsville, Bala, Port Carling, MacTier, Port Severn, Port Sydney and
Baysville. We are also responsible for the operation of multiple pumping stations, storage facilities, water mains, sewers
and fire hydrants. This is a diverse and complex operation responsible for an operating expenditures budget of $29.7M
and a net levy budget of $12.6M.

What you will bring to us
You must have the passion and desire to lead a diverse team of individuals toward the common good.
With your educational training and credentials as a Professional Engineer, CET or Class 4 Water Certificate and
Wastewater License, you are a seasoned professional with at least 7 to 10 years of experience managing staff. You
possess the ability to drive change and have a track record of successfully leading continuous improvement processes.
Well developed organizational and communication skills are essential as is your knowledge of related computer and
