About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary Full Time Supervisor to join our dynamic Donor Centre team in Halifax. The work of the Supervisor is integral to Canadian Blood Services role as Canada’s Lifeline. In this role, you’ll manage Donor Centre staff and oversee volunteers. You’ll plan, prepare, implement and evaluate collection events, collection activities and resources for the Donor Centre.
Key responsibilities include:
Ensure optimal collection event flow with a high level of customer service and compliance with policies and procedures
Ensure staff perform duties in an effective, efficient and professional manner
Recruit staff, including interviewing and hiring
Manage the performance of staff, including progressive discipline as required
Ensure each collection event is planned, organized and managed to provide for safe, efficient and cost-effective blood collection
Ensure the needs of the donors, volunteers and public are met by all members of the Donor Centre team
Provide timely communication to staff, prompt follow up for donor concerns and respond to on-site media inquiries
Required Skills
Post-secondary level education from a recognized academic institution in a health science discipline
Proven leadership ability is essential and supervisory experience in a unionized environment is preferred
Previous experience in a blood collection, regulatory and continuous quality improvement environments is an asset
Must be available to work variable shifts (days, evenings, and weekends) and travel on a regular basis for mobile clinics, including overnights
The ability to build teams, a passion for achieving results and a commitment to customer service excellence are essential
Benefits
Competitive base salary range of $67,000 – $84,000
