Position: Early Years Teacher

Location: D.R. Hamilton School

FTE: 1.00 FTE

Term of Employment: Permanent

D.R. Hamilton is a Nursery to Grade 9 school with 133 students located in the community of Cross Lake.

The community is 282 km by road southeast of Thompson. The community offers services such as grocery

store, motel, restaurants, northern store, nursing station, community hall, recreation centre and a beach

area.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Education Degree
  • Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)
  • A sound knowledge of provincial Early Years curricula
  • Previous Early Years teaching experience
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Experience working in a northern community
  • Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life
  • Experience working with students with unique needs
  • A commitment to differentiated instruction
  • A willingness to inquire into best practices and reflect on practices
  • A team player committed to the belief that all students can learn
  • Self-motivated
