The Ministry of Education is committed to the success and well-being of all Saskatchewan learners and the enhancement of literacy for all Saskatchewan people. The Student Achievement and Supports Branch is seeking two Education Consultants for permanent full-time positions.As an Education Consultant, you will be a highly motivated educator with extensive knowledge of Saskatchewan curriculum.

Reporting to the Director of the Curriculum Unit, this position is responsible for:

developing, renewing and implementing curricula from Grade 1 to Grade 12;

providing provincial direction for curriculum;

providing curriculum support to school divisions;

research in subject specific areas, effective learning practices and curriculum philosophy and design;

organizing and managing multiple projects;

liaising and collaborating with the public, organizations, agencies, other departments, branches and department staff to obtain, exchange and confirm information and make informed decisions that reflect educational goals and perspectives.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be:
a self-starter who is positive and confident in your approach to new concepts and tasks, thorough, conscientious and attentive to detail and flexible in order to cope with ongoing changing demands in the workplace;

expected to establish and enhance partnerships with various educational stakeholders and will provide leadership to existing partnerships in promoting curricula in Saskatchewan;

able to demonstrate evidence of strong facilitation and consensus building skills; and

experienced teaching in varied settings, grade levels and subjects.

Typically, the knowledge and skills listed below are acquired through:

Professional A teaching certificate and a minimum of 5 years recent teaching experience;

A Masters of Education in a related area will be an asset; and

Fluency in both official languages is an asset.

The start date for the position will be summer 2021.The work location either in Regina or Saskatoon to be discussed. Some travel is required.
