How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Community Learning – Toronto, the Education Interpreter will deliver hands-on environmental, cultural heritage, recreation and nature-based programs to school groups, summer camp groups, corporate groups and the general public.

NOTE: Hiring at TRCA is contingent on the clearance of the Vulnerable Sector Screening. Candidates will be asked for a screening only where they have been selected as the leading candidate.

Major Responsibilities:
Perform the following tasks under general supervision.

Instruct outreach education and community learning programs to groups of all ages, on an as needed basis.

Deliver programs for youth groups, school groups, birthday party groups, corporate groups and special events as needed.

Learn program information and participate in professional training sessions to ensure the highest quality of program presentation and delivery.

Maintain, clean, sanitize and properly store all program supplies and equipment as required.

Ensure a safe work environment at all times.

Participate in brainstorming and other creative processes.

Weekend and evening work required.

Other tasks as assigned.

What you will need to succeed:
Minimum of secondary school diploma or equivalent education.

2 years’ experience working with children in a group setting.

Ontario Certified Teacher certificate is an asset.

Must have a valid G class Ontario Drivers License.

Must have current first aid/CPR certification.

Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Screening is required for this position.
