Job Description
Kamloops Arts Council is seeking a leader and a lover of the Arts to be the newest Executive Director.
The Executive Director of the Kamloops Arts Council is the primary employee within the organization and is involved in all decision-making in tandem with the Board of Directors, providing leadership, direction and guidance to all programming and activities. The ED plays an active role in the vision, sustainability, direction and development of the Kamloops Arts Council and works with diverse and numerous community partners, organizations, funders, sponsors and the general public.
The Executive Director (ED) of the KAC is responsible for establishing and executing the major goals and objectives for the organization. They shall implement policies established by the Board of Directors, provide leadership, direction and guidance to staff and will analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of all the organization’s activities.
A primary focus of the ED is fundraising as described in the fundraising section. The ED is responsible for the acquisition of all funding required for the operation of the organization.
The ED represents the KAC with diverse and numerous community partners, other organizations, funders, sponsors, and the public. The ED is the primary spokesperson and face of the KAC for public relations, media, and fundraising activities.
