St. Paul’s Foundation is currently seeking a Finance Manager to join its team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Finance Manager plans, manages, and monitors financial management functions and provides professional oversight to the Finance Department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, including month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensures that financial statements are prepared in accordance with Canadian non-profit organization accounting standards.
- Assists with and provides information for external audit preparations.
- Prepares fund balance reports and reconciliations.
- Cash handling, cash control procedures, and cash flow analysis.
- Manages day to day supervision of the finance team.
- Recommends, implements and controls policies and procedures related to financial and general administrative functions.
- Works closely with the CFO to prepare annual budget and quarterly forecasts, including variance analysis.
- Project management for special projects.
Qualifications:
- Holds a Canadian Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) and is a member in good standing
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar role
- Working knowledge of non-profit accounting standards preferred
- Strong analytical and decision making skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and deliver on timelines
- Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional working relationships and liaise with diverse stakeholder groups
- Effective leadership skills with ability to develop teams and build team capabilities
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
- Superior interpersonal skills to engage, motivate and leverage stakeholders both internally and externally
- Ability to manage the development and implementation of operational policies, procedures and guidelines
- Strong attention to detail
- Advanced skills in MS Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)
- Experience with PeopleSoft an asset
- Experience with Raisers Edge an asset
- Able to establish and maintain positive working relationships
- Available to work occasional weekend and evening hours
