Financial Aid Representative
Role Profile
The Financial Aid Representative acts as the first point-of-contact for all internal and external Financial Aid related inquiries via phone or email. The incumbent also maintains student records under Banner Student Aid, the Ministry system, and web applications. The incumbent processes OSAP applications and relevant supporting documentation for the Ministry of Colleges and Universities.
Key Duties:
Review OSAP application and relevant supporting documentation.
Respond to all Financial Aid related inquiries via phone or email.
Assist students with the completion of application forms via phone or email.
Determine eligibility for financial aid funding and possibilities of reviews/reassessments.
Respond to emails sent to the shared financial aid enquiry mailbox.
Utilize Banner, the Ministry Financial Aid system, and web applications to maintain student records.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
The successful candidate will possess a 2-year post-secondary diploma or equivalent in a related field of study.
Experience
The incumbent will have a minimum of 2-years of professional work experience in a customer service environment or related field.
Skills
The incumbent is expected to act independently in order to achieve set goals or objective once the work requirements are understood.
They are responsible for organizing and managing their workload and setting priorities to meet the established deadlines.
The candidate will have excellent written and oral communication.
They will have a strong attention to detail, teamwork and the ability to adapt.
Successful Applicants:
Must have access to a reliable internet connection.
Must have a suitable and private work space to take calls from home/remotely.
Should be comfortable working from home/remotely, until such time where the transition to on-campus work resumes (pending direction from government officials).
On-site training may be required. Physical distancing measures will be in place.
