Responsible for assisting the Food Center Manger in the daily operations of a production’s food facility, to ensure timely supply of the product to stores. Maintaining food safety standards with provincial regulations and company policies and to ensure cost effective operations of the Food Center. To act as the Facility Manager when required to cover duties as necessary or when Facility Manager is on vacation. The split of duties would be approximately an 80% on the production floor and 20% administrative/support of facility in office.
Responsibilities:
Completes administrative paperwork: Orders, production, promotions, delivery schedules, label and recipe verification.
Gives direction-guidance to Sandwich makers, lead hands on performance, shipper/receiver training and positive discipline.
Ensures all employees are in compliance of corporate and provincial regulations.
Ensures Food Center facility and equipment’s is maintained and in compliance.
Holds daily and monthly staff communication/learning meetings at beginning of each shift.
Recruits, interviews, hire and train Food Center staff using the appropriate tools (i.e. interview forms, reference checks, CP materials and job aids).
Follows HR practices and procedures for positive discipline. Provides regular motivational and corrective feedback to employees as required.
Promotes and displays proactive, positive leadership qualities to all employees.
Maintains any required food handlers’ certification/license as required and ensures staff is certified as well including First Aid Certified individuals.
Attends bi-weekly Food Service Call and all other calls that Manager deems necessary
Liaison with field management to quickly solve concerns and issues with supply/production.
Store visits for quality assurance purposes as requested by Food center or QA manager.
Troubleshoot as able on production floor equipment when required.
Report and make maintenance calls to registered contractors to fix all major repairs. Monitor to ensure the concerns are taken care of.
Prepare plans for the launch of product promotions and prep for the production teams.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Food center manager.
HACCP implementation & follow up.
Some heavy lifting maybe requires periodically.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated management experience and knowledge of basic business practices.
Minimum of 1 year of working experience
High School diploma or Equivalent is required.
Demonstrated management ability and experience and knowledge of basic business practices.
This position requires excellent communication skills, both oral and written, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations. It also requires the ability to communicate clearly to all levels of employees from store level staff to market and division management. Must be able to write and verbalize responses to situations to ensure information is understood. Strong interpersonal skills are required along with basic mathematical skills and the ability to analyze and interpret financial reports. The job requires automobile travel on a daily basis and may include airline and overnight travel depending on geographic area.
