Summer Student Employment Opportunity
Position Duration: 8-12 weeks Hours of Work: 40 hours/week
Anticipated Start Date: May or June 29th, 2021 Rate of Pay: $20.00/hour
Front Desk Duties
Deliver excellent customer service, at all times, ensuring guests’ comfort and safety
Deal with all enquires in a professional and courteous manner, in person, on the telephone or via e-mail
Assist in keeping the resort clean and tidy
Handling cash register and selling various store items
Deal with customer complaints in a professional manner
Manage and maintain the administration of reservations
Complete all daily administration tasks as required
Ensure that all bedrooms/conference rooms and areas under your responsibility are checked thoroughly at the end of every shift, confirming that they meet our standards
ensure that cottage has the correct bedding and relevant number of towels
Be responsible for evacuation, in cases of emergency, acting as first point of contact for the team, guests and the emergency services
Report any security issues to the hotel manager immediately
Take responsibility for extra management tasks, as required, in the hotel manager’s absence

Garbage Collection and disposal
Follows detailed worksheet for each cabin cleaning
Clean building floors and walls by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
Change bedding and make beds as directed.
Stock cabin food supplies (coffee, tea, sugar, etc.) as needed.
Gather and empty trash.
Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
Move and arrange furniture, and turn mattresses.
Steam-clean or shampoo carpets. Polish floors.
Notify supervisor concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Replace light bulbs.
Sort clothing and other articles, load washing machines, and iron and fold dried items.
Observe precautions required to protect resort and guest property, and report damage, theft, and found articles to supervisors.
Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts or by hand as needed.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Must be eligible for Sagamok Anishnawbek ISETP program funding
Must demonstrate full time enrolment during the 2021/22 academic year in a secondary institute and be returning full time in the 2022/23 academic
Must have, or be willing to obtain Boaters Safety Course
Preference will be given to students in Hospitality
