This position is a Government of Canada funded job through the Canada Summer Jobs program. Applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of age and be legally entitled to work in Canada. International students are unfortunately not eligible.
Students for Consent Culture Canada is a national student-led organization working to end campus sexual violence by building a network between student survivor organisations, student unions, community organizations, and other advocates. We take an anti-oppressive, anti-colonial, anti-racist, anti-capitalist, intersectional, survivor-centric approach to addressing campus sexual violence. Position Description:
The Fundraiser will help our organisation become aware of and gain funding for the many important projects SFCC is working on at this time as well as projects being developed. This position is supported by and reports to the Board of Directors and Co-Chairs.
Position Responsibilities:
- Research and identify grant opportunities from non-profit agencies, different levels of governments, and various other sources.
- Collaborate with SFCC team members to assist with other fundraising projects including supporting membership or campaigns.
- Complete and submit grant applications to secure funding.
- Providing prospective funders with supporting documents.
- Work in collaboration with relevant Portfolio Leads to gather and prepare reports for funders.
- Maintain a spreadsheet of eligible grants including funding applied to, the status of the application, and deadlines.
- Represent and act according to organizational mission and values.
- Participate in weekly meetings with the supervisor and other team members
- Participate in monthly full-team meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Desired skills:
- Strong content writing/editing background with a focus on grant writing skills.
- Experience with collaborative team tools like Google Suite, Slack, and Asana.
- Experience in working with non-profit organisations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
- Experience with fundraising campaigns and event planning.
- English is required. French is an asset.
- Experience working with a nonprofit or grassroots organisation is an asset.
- Experience working with anti-sexual violence, anti-gender based violence, or student issues is an asset.
A hiring committee will review all applicants and promising candidates will be contacted after May 20. Interviews will occur between May 24-28.
